On 28 June 2026, Pollen was proud to host the London B Corp community for a morning of coffee, croissants and conversation about something a lot of employers still shy away from: being upfront about salary. Holly Saunders, Business Development & Brand Manager at Pollen Careers, shares insights from the event.

Hosted by LIS, the London Interdisciplinary School, the breakfast marked the launch of the We Show the Salary B Corps Collective, a group of UK B Corps committing to collective action on pay transparency, alongside a new business case setting out why it matters for purpose-driven businesses.

Being a B Corp means holding yourself to a higher standard, but it also means being part of something bigger, and the B Corp community works best when businesses come together to tackle issues that no single company can shift on its own. Salary transparency is a good example of that.

Our founder Sophie O'Brien sat down with Matt Collins of Platypus Digital and Ella

McWilliam of Full Fat to talk through what that looks like in practice. Much of the

conversation came back to why employers still hold salary back until later in the

the panel agreed, candidates already expect to see it, so leaving it out just means

people ruling themselves out before they've even applied.

Being upfront about pay leads to more relevant applications and fewer wasted interviews and means candidates already know what they're signing up for before they get in the room. Showing the salary isn't just a fair thing to do; it saves time on both sides and builds trust before someone's even walked through the door.

This is close to home for us at Pollen Careers. Removing bias from hiring is what

we're built on, and salary transparency sits in exactly the same territory, giving

people what they need to make a fair decision about a role rather than finding out too

late that it never was.

That's really what the Collective is trying to shift: not just individual job ads, but the

norm across the whole job market. It was a great morning, and a good reminder of

what happens when the B Corp community shows up together behind something

that matters. If you're a B Corp and want to get involved, join us and take the We
