Most employers don't flip a switch overnight – change like this can take time to plan, implement and embed. In Progress membership is a way to signal clear intent within your business while you do the work needed to commit to showing salary info on every job ad. Members get access to our toolkits, business cases, best practice resources and employer networks – all designed to bring real value to internal comms and change processes.

Who can join as an In Progress member

Any employer or recruitment business exploring salary transparency, or actively working towards showing salary info on every job ad, can join as an In Progress member.

​

Some In Progress members are still at the exploratory stage. Others might already be showing salary info on 90% of their job ads and working on the final 10%. What every member has in common is that they're moving in the right direction.

​

When you join, we'll ask where you're currently at, and what kind of timescale you're working towards. This helps us offer the right kind of support for the stage you're at.

In Progress membership is designed to support your teams and your internal comms as you work towards showing the salary. While we list accredited employers in our Who's In directory, we don't publicly list In Progress members. Our We Show the Salary Employer and Supporter logos are reserved for accredited organisations that have taken the pledge to show salary info on every job ad – In Progress members get their own resources to use internally instead.

How to join as an In Progress member

​In Progress membership is free for charities and registered Community Interest Companies. Other types of organisation pay an annual fee based on the number of employees they have in the UK.

 

The annual In Progress membership fee is half of the annual fee for accrediting as a We Show the Salary employer:​

£25 for 1-49 employees
£50 for 50-99 employees
£75 for 100-249 employees
£100 for 250+ employees

​

If you go on to take the We Show the Salary pledge within 12 months of joining or renewing as an In Progress member, we'll deduct that year's membership fee from your accreditation fee.

These fees contribute to the running costs of the We Show the Salary campaign, including the information and resources we develop to help employers on the journey towards salary transparency.
